Commissioned by Lejonfastigheter&nbsp;and Kultur och Fritid Link\u00f6ping under the Percent for Art Scheme, the commission features two site-specific paintings for a new supported living building in Ek\u00e4ngen, Link\u00f6ping, Sweden.<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignfull size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.ceciliadanell.com\/images\/paintings\/EkangenInstall2web.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><figcaption><meta charset=\"utf-8\">\u2018Sommarljuset\u2019 (The Summer Light) 200&#215;200 cm, 2026<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignfull size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.ceciliadanell.com\/images\/paintings\/sommarljusetweb.jpg\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h5>The nature surrounding Ek\u00e4ngen (the oak meadow), features a lot of oak trees and the paintings are based on research documentation at nearby Tv\u00e4rskogsudde by lake Roxen. Swedish poet Tomas Transtr\u00f6mer lived and worked here in the 60\u2019s and wrote several poems describing the local landscape, which also fed into the work. I wanted to create artworks that made the residents feel as if they could step into the landscape, and spark an interest in the nature of the locality.
